Swallowing & Feeding Therapy (Dysphagia)

Swallowing & Feeding Therapy (Dysphagia)

Swallowing difficulties—medically known as dysphagia—can affect people of all ages, from infants struggling to breastfeed to adults recovering from stroke or neurological illness. If left untreated, dysphagia can lead to poor nutrition, weight loss, respiratory infections, and a reduced quality of life.

At Pebbles Multitherapy Clinic, we offer expert Swallowing and Feeding Therapy, led by Mrs. T. Monisha (BASLP, Gold Medalist), a seasoned speech-language pathologist with over 7 years of experience. Our approach focuses on safe, effective swallowing and improving mealtime experiences for both children and adults.

🔹 For Infants & Children
Feeding difficulties may show up as refusal to eat, choking, excessive drooling, prolonged feeding times, or sensitivity to certain textures. We

work closely with families to assess oral-motor skills, sensory preferences, and developmental milestones. Therapy includes exercises to strengthen oral muscles, desensitization techniques, and structured feeding routines that make mealtimes more manageable and enjoyable.

🔹 For Adults
Swallowing issues in adults often result from stroke, Parkinson’s disease, head and neck cancers, or other medical conditions. Therapy at Pebbles includes compensatory strategies (like postural techniques), dietary modifications, and specialized exercises to improve coordination and muscle strength for safe swallowing.

What sets us apart is our patient-first, family-inclusive care model. We involve caregivers at every stage and provide education, home-based strategies, and emotional support.

With accurate assessment tools, evidence-based treatment plans, and a warm, supportive environment, Mrs. T. Monisha ensures that each patient regains safe swallowing function, nutritional health, and confidence.
